The Ultimate Morning Routine

It’s been said that how you start your day really sets you up not only for your day but the rest of your life.

I do what the longest-lived cultures on earth do, and also what grandma used to do. Grandma used to wake up in the morning and say, “I’m going for my morning constitution.” She called it a constitution, it kind of gives you the constitution and it sets the pace for the day to just go outside and go for a walk. It gets the lymphatic system going. It gets things operating.

The only other thing I would say to do is to drink water first. When I wake up in the morning the first thing I’m going to do is get straight into let’s say a litre of water. I might not drink the whole litre but I’m getting into a litre of water because I want to hydrate my system.

When we drink plain, pure water on an empty stomach it goes through a process called osmotic precipitation that hydrates the brain. And you’re literally flushing out your liver, your kidneys, you’re hydrating your body, it really is the healthiest thing you could do.

It’s what I call a non-negotiable. Non-negotiable means every day, non-negotiable, first thing I have is water. And you can enhance the water as well. You could simply put a pinch of Celtic salt or Himalayan salt, which adds electrolysis. It adds 80 plus minerals. It helps you to hydrate a lot better. You might add a little bit of lime or a little bit of lemon. It also helps the body clean out, adds electrolytes, gives us some life force. And if you don’t like the taste of water the lemon really helps.

But all the longest-lived cultures on this planet, they wake up, they walk, they drink cold water right out of the streams of the rivers, and that’s pretty much how they start their day.
