5 Ways To Gain More Clarity & Purpose

July 20, 2019

When it comes to your health, always remember that “clarity is power”.

It’s easy to get lost in a sea of information overload. So the best advice I can give is to simply find a path that makes complete sense to you, stick to it and trust the process…

Having a purpose is so important, yet we rarely take time to connect with this, even though it’s one of the key secrets to leading a deeply fulfilling life.

So, here goes…

1. Do More of What You Love

Examine all the activities in life that you enjoy, are fun for you and that energise you when you’re involved in them.

These are the things that really require little you extrinsic motivation in order for you to do them.

Whatever these activities are, believe it or not, they’re very much aligned to your purpose. It’s key to first recognise this and second, to start spending time looking at ways that you can turn these passions into something you can craft your life around – so that you can do more of what you love every single day!

2. Listen To Others Who You Value & Trust

Often other people can pinpoint gifts, talents, abilities and traits that we can’t or won’t see in ourselves.

If you’re always being told by others how good you are at something or that you’d make a great ‘such and such’… chances are there’s something in that and you could make a business or career out of. Start to ponder the feedback and conversations you have with others whose opinion you value and then start to brainstorm ideas and put these to paper;

3. What Changes Do You Want To See?

The world is full of injustice, negativity and opportunities to give others a hand and to make the world a better place.

If there is a cause in particular that you really feel strongly about, this could be a sign that it’s a part of your purpose to do something about it.

Examples include child abuse, animal cruelty, third world poverty, environmental degradation. The desire to want to BE the change you want to SEE in the world is an awesome trait to have, with so many opportunities to align your purpose to certain causes that mean something to you.

Having this kind of a purpose is very powerful when others understand that you’re on a mission and what drives you.

4. What’s Worth Sacrificing For?

Anything that’s of real value doesn’t come easy in life.

Knowing this and asking yourself what you’re willing to sacrifice in order to live more on purpose will help to give you a set of value systems to live by.

When your values and the standards you set for yourself are high, they can act like a magnet that propels you to do the things you know you need to do to bring more value to the world and to follow your purpose-driven mission.

5. Your Background

Often times it’s difficult to identify your purpose easily on the surface.

But if you know that you’ve been put on this earth to be of greater service to others, sometimes tracing back through your past can help to identify your purpose more easily.

Your background, life experience and challenges, will always be rich with clues about the core things that have shaped you and how you can use this experience to help others.

Finding your purpose can take a little soul searching to gain the clarity you’re looking for, but it’s amazing what can take shape in terms of your direction, the more you take the time to ponder and act on these questions.
